Do I need a referral for an X-ray or ultrasound?

Yes, a valid referral from your GP or specialist is required for most X-ray and ultrasound examinations to ensure the appropriate scan is performed.

Yes, we offer bulk-billed X-ray and ultrasound services for eligible Medicare patients. Please bring your Medicare card and referral to your appointment.

Ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive procedure that does not use radiation. X-rays use a low level of radiation and are performed only when clinically necessary, following strict safety guidelines.
