When is the best time to have a 4D scan?
The best results are usually achieved between 26 and 30 weeks of pregnancy, when facial features are well developed and there is sufficient amniotic fluid.
Does a 4D scan replace my routine pregnancy ultrasound?
No. A 4D scan is not a medical or diagnostic examination and does not replace your routine 20-week morphology or other clinical pregnancy scans.
What can affect the quality of 4D images?
Image quality can vary depending on the baby’s position, placental placement and the amount of amniotic fluid present at the time of the scan.
Is a 4D scan safe?
Yes. 4D ultrasound uses the same sound wave technology as standard ultrasound and does not involve radiation.
Is the 4D scan bulk billed?
4D scans are a specialised service and may attract a private fee. Our team will discuss pricing details with you prior to your appointment.
